Great book, flowing. I finished it on one flight
This is not only a page turner that you cannot put down once you have started, it is a story with credible characters that you keep thinking about long after you've read the book because of their humanity and intelligence. The psychology of the protagonists, and the social, historical backdrop which is such a complex and painful one, place this thriller in a very special category, very worthwile. Suspense, emotion, humor, and some hope! Can be read as a standalone, but the entire trilogy is excellent and profound.
The third thriller in the Alfassi series continues to develop the characters and capture our attention by a fast flowing plot, combining a well developed human angle with building suspense and plot twists. For insiders, or for aficionados of Israeli/Palestinian recent history, there is the bonus of a vivid and detailed description of the beginning of the second intifada in the stormy early 2000's, from both the Arab and the Jewish perspective.
Shuki makes a great female protagonist. I am eager to see the the next installment in the series where I hope we will continue to see more of the intrepid ex secret agent, maybe together with her old mentor Alfassi?
